Sermon Passage: Romans 8:18-25 Sermon Title: Spirit of Glory Sermon By: Pastor Davy (Youth) Sermon Summary: Through the spirit of adoption, we are made heirs with Christ provided that we suffer with him that we may be glorified with him. Then paul says that the sufferings of the present time is not worth comparing to the glory that is to be revealed to us. This glory of God is the end of time glorification moment we are all waiting for. This glory of God is the restoration of our relationship with God into perfect harmonious walk with him again as Adam was in the Garden of Eden. And knowing that this is what is to come, we, Christians, when we are faced with suffering/trials/temptations, recognize that compared to the glory of God waiting for us, the sufferings of the present time is nothing to complain about. In fact, we appreciate this time of “already but not yet” because it gives us hope. In verse 24, Paul says that we are saved in hope. We have already been saved, but we are yet in hope for the glory of God, for Christ to return to us. As a mother carrying a child is waiting patiently to see her baby, we are waiting patiently because Jesus told us that he is coming back. So in this state of “already but not yet” we have a hope that is exciting because in recognizing our incompleteness, we see that there is a time that is coming in which we will in fact be complete. But until then, we live everyday, falling deeper in love with Christ, learning more and more about him.
